Chamsa

 

The priestly blessing is written around the Chamsa. It also form the Star of David and decorations on the a the right and bottom of the hand. At the center, Jerusalem is visible behind the walls that surround the Old City. Beneath the walls, an olive three - common in Israel and one of the Seven Species special to the land.

The Hebrew text reads:

May God bless you and guard you.

May God shine His face upon you and grace you.

May God lift up His face to you and grant you peace.

Let them [priests] place My Name upon the Children of Israel

and I shall bless them."

(Numbers 6, 22-27)
