The Flowers Mizrach papercut
The most common type of Jewish papercuts found in the European Diaspora is the Mizrach. The word Mizrach, which means East in Hebrew, was for East-European Jews the direction of Jerusalem. When praying they would face the eastern wall of the synagogue and mark it with a special ornamental wall plaque called a Mizrach.
