Chanukiya papercut

 Hannukah Menorah

Perhaps one of the most beautiful and meaningful symbols of Hannukah is lighting the Hannukah Menorah, known in Israel as the Chanukiya.

This Chanukiya is inspired by the long history of richly decorated Menorahs from the Diaspora and Israel. On top, the word Hannukah is highlighted by a gold background. On the lower panel, the Hebrew words "These lights we kindle" are highlighted, as well. This is the beginning of an ancient prayer, recited every night following the lighting of the Hannukah candles. Bellow, the Hebrew words Jerusalem and 5763, mark the city and the Jewish year of making this papercut (2003).
